Become a freight broker!

What exactly is a freight broker? Freight brokers arrange for the transportation of freight from point A to point B. A freight broker, also known as a "property broker" is basically the middle man between the motor carrier and the customer needing the freight moved.

Why become a freight broker? Similar to the energy industry, transportation services have become a necessity, therefore the demand for freight broker & agent services will only increase with time. As long as there is an ever-growing population of people on Earth, there will remain a continuous and growing market for freight transportation and logistic services.

Freight brokers and agents also enjoy:

  • Countless benefits of self-employment
  • Massive $400 Billion dollar industry
  • No state or demographic limitations

Unlike Insurance Agents, Real Estate Brokers and General Contractors who are all issued "State" licenses, Freight Brokers are licensed Federally and are not bound by the confines of individual state demographic limitations. The advantage here is that freight brokers can work from anywhere in the country without having to re-license in another state.

How are freight brokers paid? Though it surprises many people, the transportation industry can be quite lucrative for new brokers. This is made possible because freight brokers are not "paid" a percentage of the freight charges - but rather they "keep" a portion of the freight charges (big difference).

How to become a Freight Broker? First, you'll need a "Certificate of Authority,"  then you'll need a comprehensive business plan with enough flexibility to get started within your budget. That's where we come in!
